Fifth-grade students add fish, snails and aquatic plants to the aquarium section of their ecosystem science project in Wendy Holsten's class at Jefferson Elementary School in Richland. The students are in the middle of a four-week study unit learning about ecosystems. Crickets and pill bugs are scheduled next to be added to the terrarium section of their project. Holsten said the students will also experiment with different types of "pollution" before concluding their studies. TRI-CITY HERALD/BOB BRAWDY
