KENNEWICK -- After winning just one league game during the 2009-10 season, the Kamiakin girls basketball team is on top of the CBBN.
Again.
The Braves captured their second CBBN 3A league title in as many years -- they shared it with Eastmont last season -- with a 70-11 win over Pasco on Tuesday night in Kennewick.
"We clinched league," Kamiakin coach Tammy Hutchison said. "I'm very proud of my girls, proud of the way they're playing and the way they came together as a team and now we're looking forward to playoffs."
Amanda Miller had seven rebounds to supplement her game-high 19 points as Kamiakin dominated from the start. The Braves outscored the Bulldogs 25-1 in the first quarter and built that into a 38-5 halftime lead.
Sira Toure had four assists and 16 points for the Braves. Her sister Khadidha added 13 points and nine steals.
Cierah Alferness scored nine of Pasco's 11 points.

Colette Gall had 17 points for Hanford, Lexi Rutherford had 12 and the Falcons engineered a 23-7 rally in the third quarter to step out of a 22-22 halftime tie and leap ahead of host Sunnyside in a CBBN 3A game.
"It wasn't just one girl, their whole team beat us from everywhere," Sunnyside coach Sean Sleater said. "They were pretty balanced all the way around, from outside to inside."
Savanna Steel had eight points for Hanford, and Jordan Rodriguez led Sunnyside's effort with nine points and four assists.

Bekah Waterhouse and Charity Degman combined for 27 points as Eastmont pulled off a CBBN 3A road win against Southridge.
Emma Sanders led the Suns with 15 points.

The Lions struggled in the first half in a CBBN 3A road loss.
West Valley led 30-10 at halftime, as Ashley Gray led all scorers with 15 points and five rebounds.
Kim Harrod's 11 points and six rebounds led Kennewick, while Paisani Taimani added 10 points.
The win moves West Valley into a tie with Sunnyside for fourth place, while Kennewick falls into sixth place. The Lions are one game ahead of Southridge for the final playoff spot.
