The local community should support the new effort to build the carousel. It is just one of a few historical pieces still in existence and can become part of the many draws to the Tri-City area for visitors and local citizens. The carousel in Spokane is just an example.
I believe it should be placed next to the Playground of Dreams in Columbia Park. It is a centralized location in the Tri-Cities and parking is plentiful. Columbia Park also provides a large area of recreation for the public of all ages. How about a picnic for the family, playground for the kids, a fishing pond, and a carousel ride for the family all in one area? The carousel may help to draw other businesses and recreational opportunities to the surrounding area.
