Chen, born in 1991, began her music studies at the Julliard School of Music in New York City at age 7 and performed her first piano and violin concert at age 8 at Rutgers University's Nicholas Music Center in New Jersey. By age 11, she launched her professional music career with a concert at Carnegie Hall.

The Poulenc Trio musicians are known worldwide as masters of classical and contemporary literature that transcends into their music.
The group, based in Baltimore, Md., has performed in Italy, Russia, New York and Washington D.C., and this weekend they bring their elegant sound to the Community Concert organizations in the Lower Valley and Tri-Cities.
The trio is the first of four concerts in the Lower Valley Community Concert season and starts at 3 p.m. Nov. 20 in the auditorium at Sunnyside High School.

The Columbia Basin College Concert Band performs a concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 22 in the CBC theater on the Pasco campus.
The concert band is directed by Randy Hubbs. Admission is free.

Bill McKay will be the guest pianist with the Inland Northwest Orchestra concert, which is at 4 p.m. Oct. 30 in the auditorium at Hanford High School.
The concert also will be performed at 7 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Christian Center, 1825 W. Highland Ave., Hermiston.
There is no admission to either concert.

RICHLAND -- Two scheduled Richland High School concerts also will serve as collection points for Richland Food Bank donations.
Cans of food will be accepted at the school's 7 p.m. holiday concerts Tuesday and Thursday in the school auditorium.
Jazz band, string orchestra, concert band, concert choir and treble choir will perform Tuesday.
