YAKIMA -- It's no coincidence that break dancing is primarily done in the streets or at parties, with crowds gathered around, cheering the dancers.
"Basically, that's our whole point: bringing it back to the community and doing events," says Hocine Jouini, a member of Seattle-based B-boy crew Massive Monkees.
Massive Monkees, who will perform a benefit show at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Sunnyside High School auditorium, are among the best at what they do. Since forming in 1999, they've won national and international B-boy competitions, and they took third in Season 4 of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew reality series.
Admission is $5, and proceeds go to Sunnyside Promise and Grandview's Extra Mile Student Center.
