Fundamentalist opposition

Our governor of this great state, along with The Seattle Times and others seem to feel they make the values when it comes to same-sex marriage. The governor had originally stated she would not accept any bill from the legislators that would not allow citizens to vote.

Now, she says it will be OK and she will gladly sign it and be proud to do so, in spite of what her church feels about it.

The Seattle Times in a full-page editorial praised her and bad-mouthed those of the opposite view as mean-spirited and out of touch.

We in the Christian community (fundamentalist) feel same-sexual intimacy, be it in marriage or whatever, is contrary to God's word and that sexual intimacy should be between a married couple -- one man, one women.

For Gov. Chris Gregoire to make her own opinion is one thing, but to pass it and deny the citizens to choose or express their feelings via the ballot box is wrong.

I would also ask, where is the church on this and why has the church not spoken out from the pulpit in length and support of the Christian belief?

The Seattle Times may disagree on that, but as a born-again Christian, I believe I have rights, too, and we should support God's word.
