Beginning back in the 1950s, there was a very popular NBC news program called The Huntley-Brinkley Report, with Chet Huntley and David Brinkley.

Near the end of one of their nightly programs, Chet mentioned the results of a new survey with the title "20 most trusted occupations in the United States." It listed teachers, doctors, lawyers. Near the bottom at 19 were used car salesmen and No. 20 were politicians! David was laughing so loud it was hard to hear Chet say, "Good night, David."
