Hanford boys edge Eastmont

Hanford withstood Trea Thomas' 20-point effort for Eastmont and pulled out a 46-43 CBBN 3A victory Tuesday night at home.

"It was a defensive struggle, and we were able to make enough plays down the stretch to get a big win," said Hanford coach Paul Mayer, who also gave kudos to one of his players.

"Brennan Sutey stepped up and did a good job for us at both ends of the floor," Mayer said.

Joe Douglas led Hanford's scorers with 15 points.

Richland 70, Walla Walla 66: Adam Baker had 17 points for Richland, Tyrell Turner had 15 points and Nathan Streufert just missed a double double with 10 points and nine rebounds as the Bombers picked up a CBBN 4A road victory.

Chiawana 67, Ike 38: Chiawana outscored its visitors by 21 points in the second half of what turned out to be a CBBN 4A home victory against Eisenhower.

Jordan Downing and Josh Torres had 14 points apiece for the Riverhawks and Tony French led the Cadets with a game-high 18 points. Downing also had 11 rebounds for the matchup's sole double double.

Kennewick 68, Pasco 56: Bryce Leavitt's 23 points led the Lions past the host Bulldogs in a CBBN 3A matchup.

Miguel Torres had 13 points and eight rebounds to lead Pasco, which lost 76-24 to Kennewick the first time the teams met.
