Tom Tveit helps an unidentified passenger, involved in a Thursday collision between a pickup and a semi-truck on Highway 395 at Foster Wells Road, make her way to an ambulance to be checked out. Washington State Patrol Trooper Dave Brandt said Jose Gomez Gonzalez, left, of Othello, lost control of his southbound 1992 Ford pickup on the icy road when changing lanes to overtake a slow moving semi-truck. The sliding Ford was then struck by a 2003 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by Hector Monterroso of Simi Valley, Calif. The pickup flipped and both vehicles landed in the median.
