Thank you, Tri-City Herald, for Thankful Thursday. It is encouraging to read some good news.
On Jan. 6, when I went into Costco, I told myself, "When I come out, my car is one lane to the right of the crosswalk." When I came out, I looked there and no car. I went up and down all the aisles in that section, and a young man said he would walk with me and help me spot it, to no avail.
A very sweet young lady stopped, put my groceries in her car and drove me around and still no car. Finally, she said, "Let's go to the other section," and sure enough, in the second row was my car.
I had come out to the wrong crosswalk. When I said how embarrassed I was, she said, "No need to be. We all do things like this." Thank you, to both of these young people.
In the time since the Kennewick Walmart opened, I have left my purse in the basket in the parking lot three times. Every time an honest person turned it in. I'm grateful to live in this great community with wonderful people.
I really am not always a ding-a-ling, just quite often. To my kids and grandkids, I hope this doesn't embarrass you too much, but I had to express my thanks.
