Parents are invited to attend a seminar on "Coping with Adolescent Stress and Depression" offered by the Youth Suicide Prevention Program.
The seminar aims to help parents better understand the causes and symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression.
Kristi Haynes, field coordinator of the state Youth Suicide Prevention Program, is the speaker.
The free seminar will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Kennewick Library, 1620 S. Union St., Kennewick.
A silent auction to support efforts to spread information about suicide is from 3:30 to 9 p.m. today at the Kennewick Library, 1620 S. Union St.
The auction is being held by The Austin Katayama Foundation, formed by family and friends of Katayama, 18, a senior at Richland High School, who died Oct. 15 after falling from a Benton County grain elevator.
