KENNEWICK -- Kennewick, still riding high from its 3A/2A division title clinching victory last week against Selah, won the CBBN League title outright with a solid 3-1 defeat of 4A division champions Wenatchee on Tuesday at Spare Time Lanes.

Kennewick's Danielle Gonzales rolled a 199 to dominate the first scratch competition and Megan Weir helped dictate the outcome of the second scratch game, rolling a 202 for the Lions.

"It was a great team victory," Kennewick coach Oscar Garnica said. "The girls played awesome as a team."

Kennewick had a 341 pinfall advantage against Wenatchee, and their only loss was in the first baker, when the Panthers edged the Lions by 13 pins.

Kennewick's victory gives the squad home-lane advantage and they will now play host to the District 5/6 regional contest next week, scheduled to start 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Spare Time.

This year's state allocation allows for one team and two individuals from the 4A side and two teams and four individuals from the 3A/2A competition.

The state championship is scheduled Feb. 3-4 at Narrows Plaza Bowl.
