One of the first things a visitor notices upon entering the city of Richland is that the town has no Main Street, only uptown and downtown shopping centers. No Main Street to tie the city together.
We could help change that situation with an old-fashion motorized cable car that would circle the shopping centers with hop-on and hop-off service -- free to the riders. Other cities do this.
Yes it would cost money, but Ben Franklin Transit could cut these and those and pay for it, along with the help of the merchants. Think what next year would be like with an old-fashioned cable car to show off our city, increase sales and brighten up the Christmas season.
