PASCO -- The Chiawana Riverhawks played with a mission Saturday night.
Behind Delaney Hodgins' 23 points, the host Riverhawks (5-1) routed Walla Walla 63-39 to create a first-place tie with the Blue Devils and Wenatchee in the CBBN 4A.
"It was the best overall team game we've had all year," Chiawana coach Steve Davis said.
Sierra Perez had 14 points and Danielle Loving scored 11 for Chiawana, which got rolling with a 21-point second quarter and entered halftime leading 35-19.
MiKayla Ferenz (12 points) was the Blue Devils' only scorer in double figures.
"I just think Walla Walla didn't play the best game they could have, but they're a talented team," Davis said. "They'll bounce back."

Britney Pringle had 19 points and scythed six steals for host Richland in a CBBN 4A home victory over Moses Lake.
"We didn't shoot the ball really well," Richland coach Cindy McCoy said of the sluggish first half. "We struggled, had shots and couldn't finish them."

Courtney Nelson led all scorers with 30 points, and Khadidja Toure added 23 points as visiting Kamiakin crushed Sunnyside in a CBBN 3A matchup.
The Braves jumped out to a 28-9 first-quarter lead as Khadidja and her sister Sira Toure clamped down on the Grizzlies' backcourt.
"The Toure sisters just torched us with steals. They just sat in that halfcourt trap," said Sunnyside coach Rick Puente. "They probably had double-digit steals in the first half."

Bekah Waterhouse scored 16 points to lead the Wildcats to a CBBN 3A road win over the Lions.
"It was a tight game the whole way," Kennewick coach Tarah Staton said. "In the fourth quarter, they scored a few quick buckets, and we didn't score till the last five seconds. We shut down."
Angelique Whistocken scored 16 points for Kennewick, and Panisesi Taimani had nine points and 11 rebounds.
"We've just been in kind of a slump the last two games," Staton said. "We lost to Kamiakin last week, but we rebounded and played great Tuesday night (against West Valley). Then Friday, we didn't play like we can.
"Tonight we turned it around. We played a great three quarters and couldn't get it together in the fourth."
