BASEBALL: Dust Devils hire WSU graduate to do play-by-play

January 13, 2012

The Tri-City Dust Devils announced in a statement Friday that Washington State University graduate Chris King will be their new radio play-by-play announcer.

King, who graduated from WSU in 2009, spent three of the past four summers as the voice of the Wenatchee AppleSox of the West Coast League. He also does play-by-play for Boise State women's basketball.

Jason Schwartz, the Dust Devils' play-by-play announcer last summer, has a new gig. The USC graduate will broadcast for the Lancaster JetHawks of the California League.

King will be heard on KFLD 870 AM starting June 15, when the Dust Devils open their season against the Everett AquaSox.
