An alert neighbor helped Kennewick police catch three burglary suspects that targeted a medical marijuana patient.

Officers were called at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday after a neighbor reported seeing three suspicious people at her 53-year-old neighbor's home on East Seventh Avenue, said Sgt. Ken Lattin.

The neighbor reported the men were in a tan Cadillac and a responding officer spotted the car and stopped it at Washington and Alder streets.

After marijuana was smelled coming from the car, officers arrested Joel Vasquez, 30, of Burbank, Jose E. Carcamo, 23, of Pasco, and Elio David Lopez Carcamo, 31, of Kennewick.

Officers claim the three suspects broke into a shed at the house and took marijuana from a medical marijuana grow, Lattin said.

The three men were arrested and booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of second-degree burglary.

"Thanks to an alert neighbor who chose to get involved and call police, three burglars have been arrested so that they can be held accountable for their actions," Lattin said.
