VANTAGE — A truck driver was injured in a crash Tuesday night on Interstate 90, the Washington State Patrol said.

The accident happened at 11:20 p.m. when a westbound Freightliner tractor-trailer drifted into the concrete barrier and came to rest on the opposite of the freeway about two miles east of Vantage, the state patrol said.

The driver, 23-year-old Adrian J. Wilson of Hephzibah, Ga., was taken to Quincy Valley Medical Center for treatment.

An update on his medical status was not immediately available.

Excessive speed was the cause of the crash, the state patrol said, adding he will be cited for second-degree negligent driving.
