* 1971 -- Pat Nash and L.R. Alley scored perfect 25's in the first of 10 trap shoots at the C & A shooting range in Kennewick. Nash missed only one bird out of 11 despite high winds to top the men's list followed by Alley with 25 points, Terry Perkins, Tom Horsley and Steve Drener all with 23. Ellen Strode led the Women's Division with 20. B.J. Alley Jr. took the Junior Shooting title with 19 and Dirk Mueller had 15 with Novice Class honors.

* 1970 -- Jim Meredith and Gary Elliot combined for 30 points as WSU clipped California 71-61in the Pacific-8 Conference men's basketball opener for both teams in Pullman.
