* 1995 -- Hall of Fame pro bowler Dave Soutar averaged a 234.7 pin count and came from from 12th place to take over the lead of the Tri-Cities PBA Senior Classic at Celebrity Bowl in Kennewick. Soutar, who missed the practice rounds because of travel delays, would go on to finish second to Tommy Evans. Legendary bowler Dick Weber failed to qualify for the pro-match play on the first senior stop of the 1995 PBA schedule.

* 1972 -- Kamiakin basketball coach Randy Dolven and Columbia Basin College assistant Jim McKean combined for 44 points to lead undefeated Tri-City Arco to its 11th straight win of the basketball season, a 106-69 romp against Frontier Machinery.
