Jennifer Noon scored 21 points and the Columbia Basin College women jump right into East Region play with a 62-53 win at Walla Walla on Saturday.
The top-ranked Hawks (13-1) relied on a terrific defensive effort against the No. 3 Warriors (9-4), limiting the hosts to 34 percent shooting from the floor and forcing 13 turnovers. Meanwhile, CBC committed just nine turnovers.
Noon hit 8 of 16 from the floor, including 4 of 9 from 3-point range. Tiffany Idler added 13 points, four blocks and four assists for the Hawks, and Andrea Bland chipped in 10 points and nine boards.
Alex Pfefferle led the Warriors with 13 points. Michelle Seitz added 10 and seven rebounds, but they were the only WWCC players to score in double figures.

Juan De La Garza and Steven Piippo had 12 points apiece for CBC. Daniel Igbinoba had a big night on the glass with 14 rebounds.
Dylan Radliff scored 18 points for the Warriors but was the only player in reach double figures for Walla Walla, which shot just 28 percent from the field.
