Kennewick city officials and state representatives attend the commissioning ceremony and community celebration of the state ferry Kennewick in Port Townsend. The new 64-car boat is one of three recently built to join the Washington State Ferries system. The 273-foot-long ferry cost $60 million to construct and will be making runs from Port Townsend to Coupeville on Whidbey Island starting later this month. It replaces a 65-year-old ferry named Rhododendron. TRI-CITY HERALD/BOB BRAWDY
