A 39-year-old Pasco woman accused of setting two fires at a Pasco apartment building will be evaluated at Eastern State Hospital.

Maria Esther Vasquez Lopez is charged with first-degree arson for the Dec. 26 fires.

She is accused of starting a fire in a pile of trash and on the window sill of an apartment at 2540 W. Fourth Ave. in Pasco, according to court documents.

Lopez supposedly had asked Juan and Teresa Flores for keys to her van that she believed her ex-boyfriend had left with the couple.

Court documents indicate Lopez may have a developmental disability.

Her bail is set at $50,000, said Franklin County Prosecutor Shawn Sant. She has yet to enter a plea.

Pasco man pleads innocent to raping girls

A 54-year-old Pasco man is being held on $100,000 bail after being accused of raping two young girls and inappropriately touching a third child.

Tony Pruneda Larralde pleaded innocent this week.

He is charged with two counts of first-degree child rape, second-degree child rape, six counts of first-degree child molestation and communication with a minor for immoral purposes.

Larralde is accused of raping a young teen in 2003. The girl told police she wanted to go see a doctor because of a medical issue, but Larralde reportedly told her he had to inspect her first, according to court documents. He then told her she needed to have sex with him, according to court documents.

He also is accused of inappropriately touching a grade-school girl in 2005, according to court documents.

And he is accused of grooming another grade-school girl by showing her sex videos, according to court documents. The victim reportedly told investigators at the Sexual Assault Response Center that Larralde took pictures of them naked and had oral sex with her in 2010, according to court documents.

Man accused of thefts from former employer

A 43-year-old Richland man accused of stealing from his former employer won't enter his plea for another two weeks.

Richard Robson Trott is accused of refusing to return Talion Construction's property after he quit his job with the construction company.

He is charged with second-degree theft.

In February, Trott wrote checks worth about $3,686 to vendors and signed owner Soren Peterson's name without Peterson's authorization, according to court documents. Trott also allegedly had two homeowners write personal checks to him for work the company did.

Trott's defense attorney Patrick McBurney was unavailable Tuesday, so the case was postponed until McBurney could be present.
