A Richland woman driving a stolen car was in critical condition Tuesday night after causing an early morning car crash that snarled traffic on Highway 240 in Richland.
A'Lisa D. Andersen, 42, was driving west on Highway 240 when she failed to stop at a red light at Duportail Street about 4:50 a.m., according to Washington State Patrol.
The car Andersen was driving hit a pickup driven by Matthew D. Bartlett, 28, of Richland. He was driving south on Duportail Street, headed to eastbound Highway 240, WSP reported.
Andersen, driving a stolen 2004 Pontiac Grand Am, struck the front section of Bartlett's 2011 Dodge Dakota pickup, police said.
Andersen's car then hit a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Deanna M. Richardson, 26, of Kennewick, the state patrol reported.
Andersen and Bartlett were injured, and their vehicles were totaled. They were taken to Richland's Kadlec Regional Medical Center. Bartlett told the Herald he suffered bumps, bruises and a sprained shoulder. He has been released from the hospital. Richardson was not injured.
Inattention was the cause of the accident and charges are pending, the state patrol said.
