Steven Young will serve another two years as Kennewick's mayor and Sharon Brown will continue as mayor pro tem.
The council voted unanimously to return Young and Brown to their offices at a short council meeting Tuesday.
The first meeting of the year also had the council voting to support condemning property for right of way in the Steptoe Street extension project out to Clearwater Avenue.
But Peter Beaudry, director of municipal services, said the action may not be needed if negotiations with property owners can be completed within the next few weeks.
The council also approved a zone change for 2.8 acres the city intends to sell. The property is just south of the 9/11 Memorial on the west side of Highway 395 at Hildebrand Boulevard.
The zoning change was to community commercial, which is the same as the other three corners at the intersection.
