Congress has recently passed legislation which would allow American citizens to be locked away for the rest of their lives with no due process and no right to see a judge or contact their family. Ironically, the Senate acted on the anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights. The Constitutional right of Habeas Corpus (the right to go before a judge) is one of the greatest advancements in Western civilization and should be maintained. This was tried before, but Harry Truman had the courage to veto it. Does Obama have the spine to do so? He did take an oath to uphold our Constitution.
