Vintage rocker Dick Dale has cancelled his Jan. 15 gig at Ray's Golden Lion.

Dale is known as the father of heavy metal as well as king of the surf guitar.

The reason for the cancellation was not provided.

If tickets to the show were purchased through the openings bands, they will have to be refunded through that avenue. Tickets purchased at Ray's can obtain refunds there, said Stan Chin, owner of Ray's.
