I would like to thank those who helped with the Osprey Pointe Wildlife Habitat Improvement Project. The Saturday after Thanksgiving, several Cub Scouts and their parents joined members of the Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society and Friends of Mid-Columbia River Wildlife Refuges in restoring native habitat shrubs along the shoreline at Osprey Pointe.

None of this would have been possible if it weren't for the Port of Pasco commissioners listening to the concerns of citizens and approving recommendations put forth by those citizens last spring. Port of Pasco staff and commissioners agreed and opted to not only change their original Shoreline Plan but to add more money to the budget to accommodate some of the citizen recommended changes.

Thank you to the Port of Pasco for listening, and thank you to all the volunteers who helped plant shrubs or donated money to purchase the plants (from a locally owned business!)

Efforts like this are great for wildlife and people! This unique nature trail linking the Sacagawea State Park to Chiawana Park and the Hanford Reach is something we can all be really proud of. By working together to enhance and preserve habitat, we make our community an even better place for all.
