Twitter over the holidays a real tweet

Here it is, my holiday gift to you: I've been digging around some Twitter accounts for some gems to share.

I saw a whole bunch of them from a lot of different people. Some were a little too personal, some slightly vague and some were flat out not appropriate for a family newspaper. Those I did not include.

Of course, I'd better send a big thanks to the accounts I 'borrowed' from. I tried hard not to embarrass anybody.

I thought the ones below were playful and funny, while others tugged on the heartstrings. For the most part, I thought they reflected a good balance of the feelings we all experience over the holidays.

Tyler Gagnon (Dust Devils baseball): First day of the nba and I’m already sick of watching these players every 5 seconds begging for a foul. Or floppin on the court.

Austin Molt (Southridge basketball): Star Wars nativity scene

Hope Neidhold (Richland golf): It’s official.... WSU next year! (Editor’s note: congrats Hope!)

Buddy Walter (Chiawana, CBC basketball): Merry Christmas :P even though most of us deserve some coal lol

Sydney Shintaffer (Hanford soccer, basketball): Dad just dumped water on me because I wouldn’t get out of bed. #pissed#kindafunny#gottalovehim

Joey Jansen (Kamiakin football, baseball, CBC baseball): Simply having a wonderful Christmas time! #tistheseason#santacomestonight

Haley Tank (Hanford basketball, track, EWU track): From my family this Christmas i got a diamond necklace and Crystal earrings. I honestly want to cry, I don’t deserve either. #thank you

Kyle Hancock (Dust Devils baseball): Calling it a night! Had a great Christmas with family! Hope you all had the same! Say your prayers knuckleheads! Catch y’all tomorrow!

Danielle Walter (Chiawana, Gonzaga basketball): Awe now thats love ;) (pic of brother buddy)

The next two aren't from the Tri-Cities, but they made me laugh.

Aziz Ansari (actor/comedian): Anyone needing a good serial killer outfit for next year’s holiday season, contact this Santa I met in India:

Jim Gaffigan (actor/comedian): “Wait, on my birthday everyone was watching what game?” — Jesus

Hope everybody had a great break and spent some quality time with family and friends.

Here's wishing everybody a Happy New Year!!
