* 2003: Adam Dabney scored 12 points to lead the Hanford boys to a 45-36 win over White Swan at the SunDome Shootout basketball tournament in Yakima. Meanwhile, Kristin Hilgert and Nikki DePeel combined for 37 points to lead the Falcons' girls to a 70-31 rout of Cle Elum.

* 1996: Tri-City Americans goalie Brian Boucher made 39 saves to lead the United States to a 4-0 shutout of Switzerland in the World Junior Championships in Geneva.

* 1974: Hermiston's Randy Wyckoff topped the wrestling honor roll with an area-high seven pins, one more than teammate Kevin Homer. Richland's Fred Chapin had the quickest pin at 9 seconds, 1 second faster than his teammate, Dave Flaherty. Chapin and Wyckoff topped the list of unbeaten wrestlers at 10-0.
