Anita and Tom Baker of Waitsburg celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 18 at the Waitsburg Presbyterian Church in Waitsburg.

They were married Dec. 23, 1951, in Denver. They have lived in the Mid-Columbia for 48 years.

Anita was a school teacher for the Dayton and Waitsburg school districts. She retired in 1992 from the Waitsburg School District.

She is a member and choir director of the Waitsburg Presbyterian Church, member of the Order of Eastern Star and past-president of the Waitsburg Historical Society.

Tom was the editor and publisher of the Waitsburg Times, retiring in 1992.

He is a member of the Waitsburg Presbyterian Church, the Order of Eastern Star, the Masonic Lodge, Lion's Club, Commercial Club, Inquiry Club and past mayor of Waitsburg.

They have three children, Charles (Patty) Baker of Quilcene; Loyal (Charlotte) Baker of Waitsburg; and Peggy Henry of Pasco.

They have eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
