Southridge took a 26-23 lead into halftime, but got sidetracked by Richland's aggressive defense, giving the Bombers a 56-45 nonleague boys basketball road victory in Kennewick on Tuesday night.
"I wouldn't even guess how many turnovers we had in the third quarter. We only shot the ball five times," said Southridge coach Jason DeVere. "They were like piranha. Once they found a weakness they exposed it. As a team, we've got to do a better job taking care of the ball."
Adam Baker led Richland with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Suns post Brad Scott led all players with 19 points and eight rebounds, but foul trouble put him on the bench for much of the second half.
Southridge remains without its top returning scorer, senior guard Matt Mendenhall, who sat out with tendonitis in his right leg.
DeVere hoped to have him back last week but now isn't so sure about his recovery.
"I don't know. We'll have to re-evaluate and see where he's at," DeVere said.

Efrain Cardoza had 15 points for the current Pasco squad but it wasn't enough as the Bulldogs fell to their elders in an alumni game Tuesday night.
Dean Colbray hit three 3s for a total of 11 points to lead the alumni's attack.
