Americans' Holland earns weekly WHL award

Tri-City Americans forward Patrick Holland was selected WHL Player of the Week on Monday.

Holland had six points, scoring three goals and three assists to go with a plus-4 rating, in two wins against the Seattle Thunderbirds the past week.

Holland scored a goal and two assists in a 5-1 victory Friday at the Toyota Center, and Saturday he picked up two more goals and an assist on the road in a 5-3 win against Seattle at ShoWare Center in Kent.

Holland, a 19-year-old from Lethbridge, Alberta, is in his third full season with the Americans and is currently ranked 17th among all WHL scorers with 42 points (13 goals, 29 assists) in 34 games played. He was the Calgary Flames' 7th round selection in the 2010 NHL Draft.
