COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- Hermiston's Joey Delgado and Tyler Berger repeated as champions Saturday at Tri-State in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, perhaps the toughest high school tournament in the Northwest.

Delgado, a three-time state champ, won his second Tri-State title with an 11-4 victory over Orting's Shannon Maris in a battle of the top-ranked 138-pounders in Washington and Oregon.

Berger, just a sophomore, won the crown at 132 with a 7-6 victory over Tahoma's Joey Palmer in another battle of top-ranked guys.

The Bulldogs finished 10th in the team race, with Mead topping the standings. Moses Lake finished 12th.

Meanwhile, Moses Lake's Nico Moreno claimed the 152 title with a dominating 17-4 win over North Central's Mitchell Bocook. The Chiefs senior and two-time state runner-up cruised through the bracket until edging Post Falls standout Tyler Booth 3-2 in the semifinals.

Moses Lake had two more wrestlers place fourth: Beau Gleed at 126 (his only two losses were to Eric Soler of Lake Stevens) and Jonathan Perales, who lost his opener at 182 but rallied for four straight wins.

Hermiston added two more placers, including a terrific run by Lupe Delgado to finish third at 145, losing only to Mead state champ Jeremy Golding in the semis but bouncing back quickly to down a two-time state placer.

Isaac Aguilar added a seventh-place finish at 113.

Chiawana didn't reach the podium but still had some strong showings.

Chris Montelongo knocked off a No. 2 seed in his first-round match at 113 and came shy of placing following a pair of two-point losses.

Kamiakin brought an abreviated lineup, with Tyler Almaguer reaching the quarterfinals at 106 for the Braves' top showing.

SunDome Mat Classic: Joey Gomez's title at 220 led Othello to a fourth-place finish in Yakima.

Gomez, a two-time state runner-up, rolled over Toppenish's Raul Pech in the finals with an 18-3 technical fall. The Othello senior won his first match in a decision, then ended his final three early.

Anthony Barrera finished second at 106 for the Huskies.

Hanford's Joe Traverso was a runner-up at 170. Sunnyside, which placed fifth (14 points behind Othello), got a second-place showing from Nathan Gonzalez at 132 after the senior lost a 4-2 decision to Zillah's Cortez Hernandez in the final.

Royal had the other Mid-Columbia finalist, with Damien Dela Rosa taking second at 182.
