Karen Fisher Alaniz will sign copies of her book Breaking the Code from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 18 at Mr. Ed's Restaurant, 2555 E. Isaacs Ave., Walla Walla.

The book chronicles the suppressed memories her father, Murray Fisher, experienced after the 9/11 terrorists attacks in 2001. The attacks triggered the 90-year-old war veteran's nightmares about his days as a code breaker for the Navy during World War II.

Those nightmares led his daughter on a mission to find out what was behind them, which is when she discovered the secret life of her dad's wartime assignments.

Mr. Ed's Restaurant is where Alaniz and her father met each Wednesday for two years to talk about the nightmares.

Murray Fisher plans on attending the booksigning with his daughter. There is no admission fee.
