* 2009 -- Brooks Macek had the first multi-goal game of his career as the host Tri-City Americans defeated the Portland Winterhawks 5-3 in Western Hockey League play at the Toyota Center.

* 1990 -- Richland's Brian Edwards (quarterback), Tobin Phelps (wide receiver) and Chad Mitchell (defensive back); Pasco's Robert Booth (linebacker) and Kennewick's Ryan Rettig (defensive back) were all named first-team all-state football by the state's sports writers.

* 1980 -- Matt Haskins scored 27 points and Jumbo Davis added 18 as the Richland boys basketball team defeated Rogers of Spokane 82-49.
