Pasco police officers and the suspect in the shooting of a 24-year-old man, try to gather a dog Thursday in the 5500 block of Coolidge Court. Officers were called to the west Pasco home around 3:20 p.m., after dispatchers received a 911 call reporting a man had been shot. The suspect allegedly went to the 24-year-old man’s home to confront him about the dogs, then shot the victim once in the stomach, according to Pasco police Capt. Jim Raymond. The suspect’s name was not released by police, but the home across the street from the victim, 5512 Coolidge Court, is owned by Froilan and Sylvia Campos, according to the Franklin County Assessor’s website. A Pasco man was shot in the stomach Thursday afternoon in an apparent neighborhood dispute over two dogs.

And the man who lives across the street from him is in jail on suspicion of first-degree assault.

The 24-year-old victim's name was not released by police, but Franklin County Assessor's Office records show the home where the shooting occurred -- 5515 Coolidge Court -- is owned by Greggory A. Warehime.

Warehime was in surgery at 10 p.m. Thursday at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland and listed in serious but stable condition.

Officers were called to the west Pasco home around 3:20 p.m. after dispatchers received a 911 call reporting a man had been shot, said Pasco police Capt. Jim Raymond.

The shooting appeared to stem from a neighbor's quarrel over two Pomeranian dogs, he said.

The suspect allegedly went to the Warehime home to confront him about the dogs, then shot the victim once in the stomach. Police did not say what kind of gun was used.

The suspect, a man in his 50s who reportedly lives across the street from the victim, was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, Raymond said.

The suspect's name was not released by police, but the home across the street from the victim, 5512 Coolidge Court, is owned by Froilan and Sylvia Campos, according to the Franklin County Assessor's website.

Online jail records show Froilan Campos Gonzalez, 54, was in custody at the Franklin County jail, and the Herald confirmed he was booked into jail at 6:50 p.m.

Campos Gonzalez appears to be the owner of the Pomeranians as the animals came to him when called while he was wearing handcuffs.

The dogs were taken away by officers.

Witnesses to the shooting were taken to the police station for questioning while investigators waited for a warrant to begin searching the homes.

Flashing blue and red lights from the top of patrol cars cut through the dense fog that covered the quiet west Pasco neighborhood and prompted several residents to come out to their driveways to find out what happened.

Pasco police officers had blocked off Coolidge Court at Grant Street, and some neighbors who live on Coolidge Court had to be given the OK to drive under the yellow crime scene tape to get to their homes.

Warehime bought his home in October 2009, online records show. Froilan and Sylvia Campos have owned the home across the street since March 2010.
