A recount at 9 a.m. today will decide who will be serve on Kahlotus City Council.

Bob Hagans, a write-in candidate, is tied with Molly Robitaille, the only candidate who filed for Position 5, with 21 votes each, according to preliminary results.

If the tie remains after the hand recount at the Franklin County Election Center, 116 N. Third Ave., Pasco, a coin toss will determine who will win.

The recount is open to the public. The counting boards and observers will receive instruction at 9 a.m. with counting to begin afterward.
