Letter Best: Going postal

12:00am on Dec 4, 2011; Modified: 12:20pm on Dec 4, 2011

Another great bureaucratic savings is on our way. The new proposed post office restructure will eliminate two jobs in Pasco and uproot 80 employees and their families to Spokane from Yakima, Benton and Franklin counties. The local mail will be delayed two to three days and all that mail will be sent to Spokane and back to us for an annual savings of $1.70 per citizen of these counties.

Gee, that is half the cost of a drive through espresso on the way to work, or almost two items at the dollar store.

Maybe the post office can issue a new stamp for "C02 emission saving" for not trucking all this mail back and forth to Spokane and scrapping this ridiculous plan.
