Michaela George scored 21 points for Wenatchee as Southridge opened the season with a 53-31 loss in its own gym.

The 6-foot-1 George and 5-11 Lexi Hallberg (11 points) combined for 32 points against a young Southridge club.

"Of my 11, five are freshmen," said Suns coach Scott Stiles. "They played really well, but to play at that level well is a little too much for us right now. We'll get there eventually."

Emma Sanders' eight points led Southridge.
