YAKIMA -- Chris Williams, a junior at the University of Washington and a native of Moscow, Idaho, shot an 11-under-par 59 on Nov. 25 from the back tees at SunTides Golf Course in Yakima.

Closing with a 28 on the back nine, Williams broke the course record by three strokes. The previous record of 62 was shared by Lloyd Harris, Will Curley and Fred Couples.

Ranked ninth in the nation among amateurs, Williams recorded three birdies and an eagle on the eighth hole for a 5-under 31 on the front nine.
