It's time for the Teddy Bear Toss

November 30, 2011

Today, I bought a bear and a lamb. Not real ones, but soft, cuddly ones to throw onto the ice when the Tri-City Americans score their first goal Saturday night against the Everett Silvertips.

Since the 2001-02 season, the Americans are 9-0-0-0 with one tie on Teddy Bear Toss night. Saturday will mark the third time the Silvertips have joined the Americans for the holiday tradition.

Brendan Shinnimin scored the Teddy Bear goal last year, just 1:10 into the game.

The fastest Teddy Bear goal was Jordan Cameron in 2001 at 37 seconds.

Clayton Stoner is the only player to score the Teddy Bear goal twice (2003 and 2004).

Here are the Americans top five goal scorers this season. Who do you think will bring down a rain of fuzzy creatures?
