The Seattle Times released its first state basketball polls this week for Class 4A and 3A boys and girls.
The highest-ranked team from the Mid-Columbia region is the Kamiakin girls, who come in at No. 2 in the 3A poll, just behind Prairie.
The Kamiakin boys are picked sixth in the 3A boys poll.
In 4A boys, Davis of Yakima is picked No. 1.
The Chiawana girls are among the others to watch in 4A, as is Moses Lake and Wenatchee. Eastmont is among the teams to watch in 3A girls.
