* 2003 -- Lane Mitchell and Kirill Doronin scored for Tri-City to give the Titans a 2-0 second period lead, but Portland picked up two unanswered goals and forced a 2-2 tie in a NorPac contest at TRAC. Nate Engeberg, Sean Kelly and Micah Miller all tallied assists for Tri-City as Nick Boddy stopped 42 shots.
* 1977 -- The Kiona-Benton football team announced Matt Allen as its rookie of the year, Duane Gifford as best blocker and Terry Gifford as leading tackler at the Bears' annual fall sports banquet. Jon Crawford earned the most improved award while Paul Gifford received the most inspirational nod. The volleyball team, which finished fifth at state, honored Cindy Bishop and Tracy Dunham as most improved, and Karina Westover received the best all-around player award.
