Edna and Gary Givens of Kennewick celebrated 50 years of marriage Nov. 5 at the Highland Grange in Kennewick.

They were married Nov. 4, 1961, at the Pasco Methodist Church.

Edna was a director with the Benton County Extension Service, retiring in 1996. She also worked as a director for Hawthorne Court Retirement Home and served on the Finley School Board.

Gary served in the Army for two years, then joined the National Guard in 1965 and served four more years. He attended Columbia Basin College, earning a welding degree while working for Welch Foods. He retired in 2001 after 42 years in the maintenance department. He serves as a Bowling Association director.

They had one son, the late Rodney Givens.
