JACKSON, Wyo. -- A few Wyoming ski areas are getting ready to open for the season.
Friday is opening day for Grand Targhee Resort and the Snowy Range ski area. The Powell Tribune reported that the Sleeping Giant ski area and Red Lodge Mountain Resort in Montana also open Friday.
On Saturday, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will open with more than 3,000 vertical feet of skiing.
The Jackson Hole Daily reported that it will be one of the biggest openings in Jackson Hole's history, made possible by a storm that brought more than 30 inches to the Tetons during the weekend.
The resort usually has to wait until December.
Hogadon Ski Area was waiting to see if it had enough snow to open Saturday.
