I normally enjoy the cute pictures of people's pets in the Pet Zone but not on Nov. 20. I was shocked and horrified to see "George W., an 8-year-old Jack Russell terrier" rest his dog bottom on old glory on the ground! This is not cute or funny but another example of the disrespect being shown our great country.

Our flag should to be treated with honor and displayed properly. It is not a rug or blanket, and it should never be laid on the ground. When it is time to retire, it should be done with care and reverence. I don't know who picks the pet pictures but "George W. terrier" should not earn his owners praise but serious criticism for their lack of respect for our country's flag.
