Here's a sign of more things to come for the newspaper industry — another print edition being discontinued.

On Monday, Southern Oregon University in Ashland cranked out its final print version of the student-run publication, at least for this school year.

Nia Towne, editor-in-chief for The Siskiyou, said the school will save $12,000 from its budget by not printing its weekly edition.

"No one is 100 percent against it, but I don't think anyone is 100 percent for it, either. We're print journalists. But our readers are college students attached to their smartphones," she told the Daily Tidings in Ashland.
