Carla and John Steidl

Carla and John Steidl celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 7 with a social hour at Rosetta Assisted Living in Kennewick. Residents and family enjoyed music by the Westernaires, dancing, cake and ice cream.

Carla and John were married Oct. 27, 1951, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton, Wisc.

They moved to Kennewick in 1976 when John took a position as a quality assurance engineer at Washington Public Power Supply System, now Energy Northwest. John retired from Energy Northwest in 1995 as a principle quality control engineer.

Carla worked as a homemaker raising three boys.

John is a life member of the Elks and the Knights of Columbus. He also belonged to the American Society for Quality Control as well as the American Nuclear Society.

They have three children, Kevin (Carol) of Neehan, Wisc.; Paul (Judy) of Eatonville and their late son Mark.

They have three grandchildren.
