On Nov. 20 in:

* 2003 -- Heidi Ruff bowled games of 181 and 210 to help lead Kennewick High School's girls bowling team to a 3 1/2-1/2 victory over visiting Eisenhower at Celebrity Bowl in the Lions' first Central Washington League match of their inaugural season.

* 1995 -- Stanford's Sara Moore and BYU's John Hedengren -- both from Richland -- participated in the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Ames, Iowa. Moore placed fourth on the Cardinal team -- 82nd overall. Hedengren, who finished 31st overall for the Cougars at regionals, placed 79th out of 170 runners. BYU finished 10th out of 22 teams, and Hedengren clocked in at 32:33 over 10 kilometers.

* 1984 -- Kennewick quarterback Brian Cordray and volleyball standout Annett Hagen of Kiona-Benton were named Athletes of the Week by the Mid-Columbia Sports Writers and Broadcasters.
