KENT -- The Tri-City Americans had their shots -- 43 of them, to be precise -- but the host Seattle Thunderbirds made the most of their chances for a 3-0 WHL win Friday at ShoWare Center in Kent.

Sean Aschim, Chance Lund and Burke Gallimore each scored in the third period for Seattle, with the first two goals coming inside of six minutes of the final period.

The margin came despite the Americans' 15-9 shooting advantage in the period. Aschim's goal came on the power play, another twist to the game.

It was the only goal scored on the man advantage despite 15 chances between the two teams. The Ams were blanked on eight power plays.

Eric Comrie was in goal for Tri-City and saved 26 of 28 shots. Seattle's final tally was an empty-netter.

The Americans are back home tonight against Kamloops, with a 7:05 start.
